The Laytons have four grown children, and seven grandchildren.
Jerry grew up in West Seattle, and Donna grew up in a suburb of Denver, Colorado.
Jerry was a public school science teacher, and the witness of one of his science students and a book on creation science led him to trust Christ as his Personal Savior.
Jerry is a graduate of Northwest Baptist Seminary, and received an honorary doctorate from Doane Baptist Seminary in the Philippines.
The Laytons planted two churches:  one in Davao City, Southern Philippines; and the other in Quezon City, Metro Manila before they became involved in their current ministry.
Jerry and Donna travel all over the Philippines, and also into other Asian countries.
