Summer Servants – Thursday

Its our last day of Summer Servants and the time has flown by. We had a ”normal” morning, starting out with a great breakfast, devotions abd cleaning around the church. At noon we will be leaving Life Church, going out for lunch and then to a park to play games. We are all looking forward to the Tacoma Rainiers game we will be going to tonight after the park and will see you at 11:59PM in the SBC parking lot. We thank the Lord for a great trip. Summer Servants – Wednesday

Today was another day of working around the church. We did some painting and a lot of weeding. After a great lunch, we split into three groups. One continued weeding, the second group cleaned up a public trail, and the third group left to do yard work at a needy church member’s home. Finishing our work, we were all thrilled to be able to use the community center to take showers. This was a huge blessing since there is only one shower at the church for all of us. The members of Life Church joined us for a pot luck dinner tonight. It was good to be able to visit with them. After dinner our group went to Lincoln Park for some recreation. We are now just home and after devotions it will be time for lights out. Thank you for your prayers, the Jr. High students are having a good time together even as they work  hard each day.

Summer Servants Tuesday

Today everyone was bright, cheery and ready to start the day by 7:30 a.m.  After a great breakfast we were allowed time to complete our individual devotions before beginning the day’s work .  At 4:30 p.m. we all took off for Alki Beach and enjoyed the sun and beach.  We arrived back at the church in time for dinner.   Tonight  we will have some team-building activities and a group devotional  before going to bed.   I will try to post some pictures from today later tonight!  Please continue to pray that the Lord will keep us safe and will allow us to show Christ’s love to the people around us.

Summer Servants – Monday

On a lovely sunny day, we left the SBC parking lot at 8:30 and traveled to Life Church in West Seattle. After arranging sleeping accomodations,  we sat down and enjoyed a great lunch prepared for us by Anne Coup and Nichole Merry.  Then it was time to get to work. The students were divided into 3 teams where some did yard work and odd jobs outside, others cleaned the fellowship hall, while the rest cleaned the kitchen. As i write this the kids are still working for about 10 more minutes after which we have dinner, go to the park for some games and then lights out is at 10:30. We thank the Lord for great weather and safety in arriving at Life Church.  Also just so you know, I will try to update this blog each day between 5-6:30 PM.  – Coleen
