Dr. J, as his pastor friends call him, was born in a pastor’s home. His father ministered for over 50 years. Dr. Jennings has served in various capacities in the gospel ministry:
• Pastor for 25 years
• International Director of Missionary Enrichment for ABWE
• President Northwest Baptist Seminary, Tacoma, WA
• President Temple Baptist Seminary, Chattanooga, TN
• President Tennessee Temple University, Chattanooga, TN. & Pastor of the 29,000 member Highland Park Baptist Church located there.
• In addition, the Jennings have carried on an extensive Church Conference ministry in almost every state in the USA and in over 50 foreign Countries.
• His last assignment from the Lord, which ended at the end of 2003, was as the Representative for the Northwest Association of Regular Baptist Churches, a Fellowship of churches in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
• Concurrent with that position, which also  ended at the end of 2003,  Dr. J was the Executive Director of Northwest Baptist Home Mission, a church planting mission in the Northwest.
• Mrs. Jennings has her B.R.E.,  B.A. &  Masters Degrees and has taught  in both Public and Private Schools including K through 12, college & Seminary. She has also been Administrator of Christian Day Schools & has carried on an extensive ladies ministry, speaking both nationally and internationally to ladies groups.
• Don and Doris have two sons and both are in the ministry. Michael in Tacoma, WA and Don II in Noblesville, IN. The Jennings’ have five grandchildren. Their grandson, Don III, is a ministerial student at Moody College in Chicago.
• The Jennings, now retired, live in Hemet, California.
