The Silverdale Baptist Church Missions Committee consists of about 12 people and meets monthly to plan and oversee our missions outreach and budget. The Missions Committee keeps close contact with the missionaries that SBC supports.
Purpose
Our purpose and focus is to provide the planning, development, promotion and support of the mission activities of SBC throughout Bremerton, Washington, the United States, and the World; fulfilling the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ to us, His disciples.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) |
The goal of the SBC Missions Committee is to be open to what God is doing and to join in on what He wants us to do. We desire to have long lasting fruit, and since the needs are so great and diverse we strive to be strategic with God’s purpose for Silverdale Baptist Church.
How?
1. By providing support for our missionaries.
2. By bringing awareness to our congregation about missions, needs, and cultures.
3. By connecting our congregation with missionaries.
4. By educating, recruiting, and training missionaries in the local church.
5. By training and preparing our congregation for short-term mission teams.
6. By meeting with each missionary who visits the church asking for details concerning such matters as: financial needs, health, personal and family issues, and ways in which the church can better partner with them.
7. By devoting time to pray for our missionaries and the people they are seeking to reach for Christ.
